Week in Review: March 26-30, 2012

Rock Chalk! Wow! Who would have guessed our Jayhawks would be in the NCAA Championship Game?

We've been having some games here ourselves. The kids want to do a chess tournament.

Math BamBam finished up his multiple digit subtraction chapter. He'll get a reprieve this week while working on subtracting money. Primpress continues to drill her subtraction facts. In Math Mammoth, they worked on adding and subtracting within tens.

Review week in spelling
Language Arts BamBam had an easy review week in spelling. Primpress aced her spelling test this week working with double consonants words. In grammar, Primpress is working on memorizing her new poem, Mr. Nobody. BamBam had a unit test in grammar. Both children completed their Writing With Ease chapters for the week. BamBam's summaries are really improving.

History We learned more about Julius Caesar, including his death. We learned some Latin (veni, vidi, vici). We learned what is means to "cross the Rubicon." We learned how to read Roman numerals. We learned, period. It was good!

Snake! It was dead. But how BamBam can so easily spot wildlife is beyond me.
Other We spent almost every afternoon this week at the park. The kids played while Seamus and I hung out on the blanket, reading and pulling bits of grass out of the ground.

This next week is technically our week off, but we will continue to have school. We're going to delay the week off until Daddy Jayhawk takes vacation.

Have a great week!
